Shards of Ice : ウィキペディア英語版
Shards of Ice

Shards of Ice is a metal/rock band based in London, UK. Originally hailing from Manila, Philippines, Angelo Garcia and Dean Rosen started the band in 2004. Within the same year, they recruited Lex Adarme on drums and Griff Chatwin on rhythm guitar.
Shards of Ice's debut album, entitled ''The Monkeys Have Landed'', was released in October 2004. The singles "Hunter Killer" and "Wasted Everyday" were aired on local music channels MTV Philippines and MYX.
In July 2004, Garcia moved to Cairo, Egypt. Since then, Shards of Ice have remained a three-piece band, promoting Chatwin to be their lead guitarist. In November 2004, they were featured in ''PULP'' magazine, and in February 2005, the band won first place in LSGH's "Overdose" Battle of the Bands competition, in which they were at the time the youngest and the only three-piece band to do so. In April of the same year, they played at the PULP Summer Slam, which celebrates the top 35 bands in the country, with the attendance of up to 17,000 rock fans; and in June, at the Fete De La Musique, a worldwide music festival celebrated in several countries. RockEd and Gawad Kalinga are two charity organizations they have supported through various benefit concerts, including one campaigning against poverty, and one for the victims of the Leyte landslide. They were also featured in ''The National Inquirer'' newspaper, featured in May 2005.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=inq7.net )
In July 2006, Chatwin moved to Sweden, and thus only Rosen and Adarme remained in Manila. They performed with session guitarists Fred Dobbelstein and Birk Kollecker. In April 2007, they competed in the national Invasia Battle of the Bands competition and placed in the Top 5, among other local acts such as Neruda and April Morning Skies.
By October and November 2006 and early 2007, the band began work on their second LP in Soundweavers Studios. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, Rosen and Adarme were forced to discontinue the production of the album. A music video of the single "I Pledge Allegiance",〔(Shards Of Ice - I Pledge Allegiance (music video) - YouTube )〕 was still produced.
In 2008, Shards of Ice's promised reunion was fulfilled in London, England, where the band now resides. Work began on their 2009 demo, and in March 2009, after playing their debut gig in Camden Rock Bar, the band welcomed a fourth member, rhythm guitarist Alex Lamy.
